Animal News – October 20th, 2017

Listening: How to keep animals from escaping your zoo – How To Do Everything, NPR

Reading: Women of the wool – Rebecca Bengal, Vogue (warning: the article does have a video that autoplays. Otherwise, a great read about shearing sheep!)

Supporting: the Progressive Animal Welfare Society (commonly known as PAWS) is an organization in Lynnwood, Washington that’s dedicated to helping injured and orphaned wildlife, sheltering and adopting stray cats and dogs, and educating people on how to make the world better for both people and animals.

Events: If you have kids learning to read, you’ll probably love the Project Canine program “Bow Wows and Books” in Seattle. The event alternates between the Northgate and Green Lake branches of the Seattle Public Library during the school year and this Sunday’s event will be at the Northgate branch from 3-4pm.
