Happy (early) Thanksgiving to all in the United States! For many around the country, tomorrow is a wonderful day filled with family, friends, food, and feeling grateful. For those who are celebrating tomorrow with pets, there are a few things to keep in mind throughout the day!
First of all, be aware of how much your pet might be eating if they’re around a Thanksgiving meal. Traditional Thanksgiving foods, including turkeys, can be rich and too much can upset your pets’ stomach. Plus, there are a few foods and drinks that are not good and even potentially toxic for your pets. Onions and any type of alcohol are just two examples!

Second, if you’re hosting a large party for the day, it might be good to have space in the house/apartment just for your pets. Whether it’s in your room, closet, or somewhere else, having a quiet place just for your pets to go if they start to feel overwhelmed can help reduce their stress!

Thanksgiving, for many, is a day to spend with family, friends, and loved ones and a day to give thanks. I’m personally thankful for all the time I get to spend with dogs like Milo and Rooster and all the time I get to spend learning about other animals. What are you thankful for this year?
Oh, very good points. I once saw a dog get up on the Thanksgiving table and start eating away when he thought no one was watching….
Thanks! And oh my goodness. I bet that dog was so excited but I can’t imagine anyone else was!
