‘Walk on the Wild Side’ Presentation Series [Bellingham, WA]

Bellingham is a small city in the northwest corner of Washington state and is surrounded by nature. It’s located right on Bellingham Bay and there are numerous parks, lakes, and creeks that are peppered throughout the city. Having so much nature around the city is a blessing, as there’s never a shortage of ways to be out in nature without traveling too far. But that also means that residents also have to live and coexist with wildlife that also calls the city and surrounding ecosystems home.

The Whatcom Humane Society (WHS) is a local nonprofit dedicated to helping domesticated animals like cats and dogs find their new forever homes. But the WHS also has a quiet facility that’s solely dedicated to caring for injured wild animals! But their wildlife center isn’t the only way that the humane society is helping wildlife, as WHS is also hosting a presentation series in the spring of 2019 that covers how to peacefully coexist with the wildlife all around us!

There are four presentations in the ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ series happening this spring. Each presentation will cover a different topic but if you are unable to attend, WHS does have several YouTube videos about coexisting with wildlife. You can find some of those videos at the end of this post. WHS also hosts other kinds of events throughout the year. You can find more information about the events on their website.
