For the last few years, the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the United States has been known as Small Business Saturday, a day people have dedicated to supporting small and/or local businesses. There are so many wonderful small businesses in the Pacific Northwest that are related to animals in one way or another! The following stores are just some amazing stores you can support today (and hopefully continue to support in the future!).

All Dog Kind

All Dog Kind’s mission statement is that “all dogs, regardless of their breed or past, deserve love, dignity, and kindness” and it lives up to that mission by creating cute dog-related artwork and apparel and by donating 20% of profits to animal rescues. The store has little hats for dogs (which are the cutest things!), bandanas, stickers, and custom portraits.

Pawcific North Designs

This store makes adventure-related items inspired by the Pacific Northwest and has apparel for dogs, like collars, jackets, bandanas, leashes, and blankets, clothing for humans, and glass mugs. I actually purchased this bandana recently and love it! It’s well made and looks exactly like the photos.

Phoebe Wahl Shop

Phoebe Wahl is a Bellingham-based illustrator and writer whose work invokes a sense of magic and comfort. Her store’s mission is “to nurture a sense of belonging, inspire connection, and spark imagination” and her products include several books she’s written and illustrated, greeting cards, prints, calendars, and homeware. Phoebe’s work heavily features nature, animals, gnomes, and fairies and answers the question “What would it be like to live a wonderfully magical life?”.

Recently, I also revamped my own store for Animals of the Pacific Northwest. There are a few prints currently up for sale and more coming soon!
